So blessed we were to have a perfect double rainbow this evening.
Sergei noticed it first.
Then, we could hear all the neighborhood kids squealing about it as well.
J,s, and i relaxed and enjoyed every magical moment it hung in the sky,
After it had finally faded, sergei called out for it, asking it to come back.
why not try, right?
Also, here are a couple garden photos finally.. still much work to be done and doesnt look like much over on the right, but there are many many veggie seedlings hiding from the camera…
mmmmmmmm…rainbow carrots, rainbow chard, beets, squash, zucchini, cuc, rhubarb, green, purple and yellow beans, pumpkin, dill, basil, rosemary, chives…just a sample of what will be in my salad bowl canning jars, and oven in the weeks and months to come…

haha…very funny, Universe.
posted 2 years agoThere was a jeremy in the bathroom this morning when i woke up.
(not my photo)
damn earwigs are everywhere!
suppose they are better than the house centipedes (or, jeremy crawlers as we called them, not sure why) @ our last place…eeeww…!
actually thinking back now, i don’t mind the earwigs at all!
HA! no complaints on second thought..heck, they are actually kinda cute..
We did grow our corn from seed/kernel (started 3 mos or so indoors and they are 1-2 feet tall)
The kids help water and care for it, but they still couldn’t keep their chubby little hands off of the plants, so I decided to make a little lesson out of it.
HOORAY FOR CORN!
We talked about corn and how it grows, watched a time lapse video, husked and rinsed some, and enjoyed some yummy corn on the cob.
Last but not least we made….corn husk dolls!
A really sweet and simple project, and they came out adorable.
Corn husks and yarn, thats all you need.
(Tesla insisted that i cut hers’ dress apart and she wear pants instead.
Sergei rocked his and patted it and called it baby:)

literary bliss aka library card madness.
posted 2 years agoMy problem? I absolutely cannot stop placing books on hold…there are now 24 on their way to me.
The Denver Public Library is amazing. They will find you ANYTHING you want… send it to the library closest to you and email you when its ready to be picked up. Books, movies, music… name it.
Rare and out of print items as well.
I am just in heaven. I was so starved for so long..i will never let fines pile up again.
and dear Sergei has actually begun taking a real interest in which books he takes out, biking over with me and putting them in the drop slot when we are done… he really enjoys the process, and of course is a fiend for books these days.
2 favorites right now being:
our tee-pee…
a. is awesome.
and b. just so happens to distract the munchkins from my bean tee pees and other fun things to pull and climb on in the garden…
for the most part.
also, it is great for hide and go seek, peek a boo, and best of all ,O’Malley hunting!
know i should be trying my hand @ something other than photos of adorable children.
first observation: what a difference it makes when the subject is not in motion.
the challenge now is for me to make it interesting..the kids always do that part for me…

Sergei’s differently abled friends..
“baby jessica” named after my dear friend..terrifying, isnt she?
…and “bear”.
Bear used to protect JP (serge’s papa) from underbed mosters when he was a short person. i can not bring myself to afix a new eye just yet… maybe someday if sergei ever cares to request it… for now i think he is just perfect as is.
